As far as I read this young lady is half Egyptian half American and barely can speak Arabic !!

she is really pretty but I am afraid this is not the Egyptian Beauty ,she is  more like a western than an Egyptian

The Egyptian Beauty is like Mona Zaki kind of Beauty

Anyhow it is silly contest and most people don't respect it

My grand mother always asks in wonder "What kind of a respectable house that will permit its daughter to join such contest and show her body??"

This wonder that is more of rejection is shared by most of Egyptians whether Muslims or Christians

Of course I can't describe you my Grand mother amazement when She knew that two girls we knew directly and indirectly were in the Miss Egypt 2005 ,one with me , a very sweet girl who left the Cairo university for the AUC and Mariam ,the Queen of 2005 herself indirectly as one of her best friends is from our relatives, So they are from the same class but it seems that they have different kind of thinking !!

Strangely the Organizers of the event every year swear that it is not about the look ,it is about the presentation ,personality and most important culture , well I won't speak about Presentation or Personality despite their importance but I will speak about culture and knowledge as Miss Egypt will represent Egypt and its people abroad , it seems every year ,the girls in the contest are more ignorant than the previous year

I mean a question from this year contest

"What is the greatest achievement for women in Egypt ??"

The answer

"The new divorce law which gives the women the right to divorce them even if the men don't approve !!"

well there is a french proverb that stays

"Be beautiful but shut up !!"

N.B I found it very silly that the Miss Egypt contest name is Pantene Miss Egypt !! Yup I know Pantene is the official sponsor but ......

It had been very long time when I watched a real funny film in the cinema, today I watched the film  "Norbit" in the Nile city cinema, my favorite ,since its opening I always go there , I left "Galaxy" for  Good despite I think I will go to it soon insh Allah to catch the "300".

Anyhow Norbit is a comedy starring famous Eddie Murphy and beautiful Thandie Norton with other famous black American comedians . To tell you the truth I am not a huge fan for Eddie Murphy but I can't deny that he has a great talent to make you laugh and another great talent to imitate different personalities , not every actor has this talent but he has got and he succeeded in doing it in the two parts of " The Nutty Professor " and he is doing it even better in Norbit , why it is better well in the "Nutty Professor" he was presenting a similar set of characters ,the fat eat lovers of Klumps family , while in "Norbit" he is presenting a different characters ,completely different

I mean he is doing Mr. Wong the Chinese  ,He is doing Norbit the main character

and he is doing the evil woman from hell Rasputia

The film plot is simple ,well be careful here as there is a spoiler here

Norbit is a very simple guy , he is not the smartest or the most handsome guy in the city and surely not the richest after all he was an orphan raised Mr. Wong the kind frank Chinese guy who wants to go for whale fishing.Norbit in his childhood had a crush on beautiful Kate who was adopted by rich parents who took her away leaving him away ,after some time lonely Norbit found friendship ,security and what he thinks it was a family with Rasputia, the fat love food rude aggressive Rasputia whom he married . Norbit despite having not the perfect marriage was faithful till the day he returned back to find his wife in the arms of another man , of course it ended that Norbit was beaten , yet after every storm , there is a sunshine , because Kate is back to town for good and Rasputia won't like it

and here I will stop because I am a bad spoiler

The film is so funny and it will make you laugh despite I don't recommend the parents to bring their children to see it because as usual Eddie is using sexual jokes and remarks, Eddie always the sexual remarks in his movies from very long time ,even since his days as stand up comedian ,I remember the Eddie Murphy raw show and it was all about sex,women and homosexuals but the nice thing that it won't make you feel disgust if you are adult . There is a very interesting remark you will know that the movie is written by Murphy and his brother Charles

Seriously if you want a break from action and war movies and also romantic and stupid teen movies ,I recommend "Norbit"

Already It is the first time I know that such name exist !!

I have a confession that I don't find Will Farrell that funny , really I mean he is great on Saturday Night live but to have a full films like Blades of Glory well this is too much , I mean his movies really are silly but the sketches he does are hilarious.

Anyhow enough talking I will leave with Will Farrell's landlord , he didn't pay his rent and she is so angry , I forgot to tell you that this lady is so nasty and so rude in a way that I can't describe it in word , you have to see it by yourself to judge

Seriously I am not with the people who are in America angry from this landlord lady and how Will Farrell let her speak the way she did because in the end it is comedy and it is not for children anyhow ;-)

By the way Miss Pearl Deserves an Oscar for her outstanding performance , I swear this lady has an appeal to the camera more than Nabila Abid and Nadia El-Genndy

Mr. Don Imus , a name that I couldn't forget really I couldn't forget his name for two years now since the death President Arafat in particular because before that I didn't ever know that there is a man living in the other side of the world with that name for working for the MSNBC radio and is a racist from the first degree that hated other humans for this degree.

When president Arafat died and the Palestinian people went to receive his body in a great funeral , a massive one , thousands in the streets expressing their feeling , after all we Arabs are so emotional to a great extent , the funeral was broadcast on air internationally and it was during his radio show and thus the comedian who thinks he is funny turned the funeral by his description in to a hate racist play , very disgusting.

Already the man who is famous for the hate of the Arabs described the Palestinians as pigs and the widow of Arafat ,Suha as a fat cow and they should be exterminated by bombs yet unfortunately the MSNBC reporter was there !!

What kind of a person is he ?? really with no feelings or thoughts about other humans

Really I wasn't surprised that much when he called the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "Nappy Headed hos" and I apologize for  using the same disgusting term ,really I wasn't surprised because the person who wishes for a genocide to happen for another people won't hesitate to use this terrible description to describe a women basket ball team who lost a game .

I am so happy that he was fired and his show was canceled

This man in my opinion is worst than Mel Gibson , at least Gibson was drunk not sober !!

Yesterday Israel celebrated the Yom HaShoah "The Remembrance day for the Holocaust and Heroism".

I have nothing this and I am not from the camp that dedicated his or her to suspect that the Holocaust took place despite the fact I do believe it took place but in less number

Anyhow I wonder when we will have our "Yom Hashoah" in Egypt to remember the Holocaust victims of Egyptian POWs in 1967 , oh yes we had our own holocaust back in 1967

This is an old post I made and forgot ,I think it is suitable for the Friday 13th

I read a strange news in the E-Newspaper"El-Masryon"" which is somehow can be considered an Islamist , in their tabloid section which is taken or in better word is copied from other cheap tabloid newspapers , there was this tiny news about veiled actress and singer who will be sharing in some yoga event in Sharm Sheikh that will be attended by one of the the Dalai Lama 's students !!

And this is just another suspicious event as from couple of years ,there was an announcement of some yoga event attended by some lady who turned to be coming in Egypt to spread Buddhism thankfully the security knew the trick and was so close to catch her but she just vanished

I remember this lady and I remember seeing the ads in the newspapers and the streets and there was no mention of yoga as far as I can recall

First of all I practice Yoga , well not that often but I tried to practice it last year regularly and thus I read about it extensively from different sources.

Yoga is not a practice from Buddhism , it is one of the six schools of the Hindu philosophy , you can check more about it in wikipedia's article which is full of information , yes there are some kinds of Yoga in Buddhism but if you read carefully you will find that it originated in India, the home land of Yoga , do not forget that both religions respect meditation , already Yoga is a combination between Meditation and exercise that gives you very healthy body 

I don't see anything in Islam against Yoga and its practice , because the main thing in Yoga is meditation and Islam doesn't prohibit meditation on the contrary ,Prophets Ibrahim "Abraham" and Mohamed "PBUH" both of them reached to God through the meditation , yes of course the holy spirit angel "Gabriel" came down to earth to them , but they thought in the world around and them , thinking in God's creation and the Universe I think is some kind of an order in the holy Quran, it is mentioned several times. For Instance when I used to practice Yoga ,I used to close my eyes ,trying not to think in anything at first and just say "Sobhan Allah" and similar praises inside me , of course I could not stay more than 20 minutes in the same place on one position doing nothing . Yes Yoga is the product of the Hinduism but in the end of the day I worship Allah and I pray to the Mecca's direction not lighting up candles for Shiva with all my respects to the Hindus

In fact I believe that one of the deadliest problem in the Islamic world now that we don't practice meditation like before in our golden age

Anyhow all I want to say this may not be some evil Buddhism conspiracy to invade the Islamic Egypt like the "El-Masryon" and the original tabloid wanted to make it appear like ,I don't know about the event or the organizers but I hate giving people the wrong kind of information based upon ignorance and misconception.With all respect those journalists working in an e-newspaper that claims to defend the Islamic view in Egypt first they shouldn't publish tabloid news based upon it was said , they shouldn't defame people except when they have a hard evidence, second thing , they should mention the complete information

You know it is like when Rosa El-Youssef magazine from couple of years talked about the scientology church and considered it a Zionist attempt to defame Christianity !!

Sanjaya Malakar , the famous American idol constant is killing me , really is killing not only with his weekly changing hair cuts , but with his voice , not killing me softly kind , no killing me by terrible horrible weak voice

I can't believe how weak voice he has , of course I listened to his previous performances ,but yesterday "Besame Mucho" was enough for me , I had it enough "not Besame Mucho" for God sake not this beautiful Mexican song, already I love this song and I have several versions of it

Today in Egypt marks the Sham Nassim , our oldest feast and our celebration with the beautiful spring

Sham Nassim is celebrated since the days of the ancient Egyptian not as the spring celebration but as the "Harvest" celebration oh yes , as the word "Sham" which is in Arabic means "Breathig" was taken from the ancient Egyptian word of "Shamo" which means "Harvest" , the Arabs when they came they changed it to the nearest word they understood in their language which "Sham" this is the first theory the Egyptologists have regarding the origin of the feast

That is the annual Flowers fair held from the 20th of March to the 20th of April for the Spring flowers under the supervision of the Agriculture ministrry , it is for selling flowers and gardens supplies , the prices were moderate except for the Baladi flowers , the pink balady flower below is sold for 30 Egyptian pounds per one

Ok but it is not only in the Bible or the Torah ,it is also in the Holy Quran and what is mentioned in the Holy Quran is not a myth , and as far as I know Dr.Hawas is a Muslim so I don't understand what he is saying

I won't say anything except as some one who reads a lot in the old ancient Egyptian history that I agree with Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, the head of the excavation who is wisely offered another theory for what happened in the Exodus that it could have took place in the modern state , the Pharaoh was drowned and the whole army was killed and that was a crisis and Egyptians never had documented crisis

Really we are since the beginning of history big fat hypocrites who only mention their rulers success but not their defeats never , we even change in the history to make them appear victorious !!

Something like this wouldn't be documented in a temple or what ever , for God Sake the Whole Aton religion belief was completely destroyed till they found the Amrana city , Tut Ank Amon was totally forgotten till Howard Carter found him

The ancient Egyptians were just like us people with big pride , come on we don't have as much power as they had yet we act as if we were the masters of the universe !!

It is not an excuse that Dr. Hawas didn't find anything that support the Story of the exodus ,that it didn't take place ,already in that way he is saying that the story which Prophet Mohamed "PBUH" said regarding the maid of the pharaoh's daughter didn't took place either !!

For those who don't know the maid of the Pharaoh's daughter was a believer of God from the Israelites who refused to convert to worship the pharaoh and thus she was tortured that the pharaoh's soldiers threw her children in boiled oil in order to force her to convert but she refused yet she began to fear on her baby between her arms , a little baby couple of months ,she looked at him and suddenly spoke telling her not to fear because "God" Allah is with them ,when that miracle happen she herself jumped to oil with the baby in her arm

I am sorry but I believe this story and I think our ancestors didn't document it because it showed that they were wrong and they paid for that

Foolishly Hawas doesn't only dismiss the The Exodus Testament but also the Holy Quran , for God Sake I can not number how many times this story is mentioned in the holy Quran since the first chapter !!

This is not an Arab - Israeli conflict thing , nor a history or science stuff , this is a matter of faith , why we are afraid to admit that we had once cruel ruler !!?? Come one we are having one already !!

You know sometimes I think in the exodus and I believe it is more political then religious, the dictatorship and how the dictators' lives end , and I think one of the disadvantages that our ancestors didn't document this miserable end for the cruel ruler of Egypt in order to give a lesson and wisdom to the future rulers of Egypt

I don't why I have the feeling that the article or the review is more about Tariq Ramadan more than the book. Already Tariq is very controversial from a very controversial family  and I know that his opinions are causing lots of debate in the west.

He is very interesting personality  but what about the book itself !!?? I don't think that it is fair review I am sorry

I think that from the review the book seems interesting giving the western reader the real facts about Prophet Mohamed "PBUH"
